YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The DMR Adventures Youth Leadership Program (YLP) has been at the core of our programming for the last eleven years, providing long-lasting relationships and impactful training -- many YLP members have established their own artistic programming, have produced educational opportunities within their respective communities, and most importantly, have gone on to serve as mentors.
This internship program gives students opportunities to learn about several aspects of working in theater. Interns will work as assistants to directors, designers, instructors, and administrative staff, performing a variety of duties. The work will earn intern credit that can be applied to certain programs at DMR.
After an application is submitted, applicants may be selected for an interview with Katie Wall and/or Melissa Charles and possibly members of our Executive Board. During this interview, we will discuss the goals and interests of the applicant to determine which roles at DMR would best suit them.
Students in 7th-12th grades may apply for the YLP Program.
Students in 5th and 6th grade may apply as well, and would be considered for the JR YLP program, but opportunities may be extremely limited while we are focused on virtual programming.
*Due to the restrictions placed upon us by the global pandemic, we are opening up the program to include virtual interns.
