Please read for statements about the changing of our show date for BROADWAY AT THE PARAMOUNT
“The Musical Theater Intensive/BROADWAY AT THE PARAMOUNT program, presented by DMR Adventures, aims to bring together Broadway artists, college apprentices, passionate students, and our community to celebrate the power musical theater has to connect people from a variety of backgrounds. As we have progressed toward performance time, we have been informed of increasing potential for an unsafe environment. The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and patrons is of the utmost importance and all decisions have been made based off of this fundamental value. For these reasons, we felt it necessary to move the date of the performance to Friday, August 11 at 8:00PM. We appreciate the support of the Paramount Theatre, our staff, our students, and parents in making this decision.
In times of divisiveness and unrest, we are reminded of the importance of arts education in teaching empathy and critical thinking skills.
I am incredibly proud of the work our artists and students have created in this intensive, and I hope that this change in date will allow the community to safely and enthusiastically support this production.”
Melissa Charles, Artistic Director
“We have had a wonderful week with DMR Adventures Summer Musical Theater Intensive leading up to this weekend’s BROADWAY AT THE PARAMOUNT. After careful consideration, we have decided to move BROADWAY AT THE PARAMOUNT from Saturday, August 12th to Friday, August 11th. The creative team didn’t want anything to impact the hard work of these students. Creating a safe environment where our artists can thrive is one of our top priorities. We look forward to sharing with audiences an entertaining evening which celebrates the sense of family and community that has flourished in the studio over the past week.”
Matt Steffens, Director
