The JR. BROADWAY ADVENTURE class offers a fast-paced education in intermediate musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting, as well as an opportunity to work on set, prop, and costume design. The class will work towards a culminating production of Into the Woods, Jr. This class is open by audition only, and we are looking for mature performers who can take direction well and work as a team.
*A deposit of $25 is due at the time of the audition. If your child is cast in the show, but you choose not to participate in the class/production, your deposit will not be refunded. (Please make us aware of any schedule conflicts or roles your child will not accept on the audition form or the day of the audition, so that this can be taken into consideration when casting). If your child is not cast in this show, the deposit will be refunded or put towards another camp or class. Some need based scholarships may be available, but you will need to apply for a scholarship at the time of the audition. (casting will be complete on Jan. 25)

Important Information about Auditions
1. A short song (verse and a chorus, or a 16 or 32 bar cut) that is no longer than 1 minute. This song should be memorized, and it is preferred that you bring in an instrumental backing track (you can bring a CD, flash drive, or a device like a phone or ipod that will play your music). You may also sing a capella (without music). It is suggested that you do not sing anything from the show. An accompanist will not be present.2. A monologue is preferred for this audition. If you are not comfortable performing a monologue, you may choose to perform a scene from Into the Woods, Jr. that can be found at this link: http://broadwayjr.com/audition/auditionlist.asp?ID=000189 If performing one of these scenes or “sides” for your initial audition, they should be memorized. They are NOT expected to be memorized for call backs. Please look over this material prior to your audition to familiarize yourself with our show. http://broadwayjr.com/audition/auditionlist.asp?ID=000189 You may also listen to music from the show at this link: http://www.mtishows.com/show_detail.asp?showid=000189If you feel overwhelmed by looking at the audition requirements, know that you are not alone. Everyone on the DMR team remembers our first audition, and our job is to make you/your child feel as comfortable as possible. If your child is completely uncomfortable with auditioning, know that we have several classes available that do not require an audition. We will be holding regular audition workshops to help you/your child prepare for upcoming auditions for community, regional, and professional auditions.
