Annie, Jr. Cast List!

Posted below is the cast list for Annie, Jr.  Please read ALL the information below!

 Please note that the name of your role(s) is the left of your name! Please also note that those playing shared roles will perform in 2 shows, and the others will perform in 4 shows. Our performance schedule will change slightly due to these added shows and we will finalize that information with you as soon as possible.

Our first rehearsal will be Sunday, Feb. 7 at the Charlottesville Center for the Arts! Our rehearsal time frame is 2:15-6:30 this Sunday, so stay tuned for a detailed schedule, but everyone will likely be called for music and/or dancing!

Please DO NOT email to accept or decline your role, we will send you an email through which you can pay your participation/production fee, list measurements, fill in any additional emails to which correspondence should go, etc.  There will also be a place on this form to use for questions or notes.
This email will come through by Saturday at noon.

Thank you ALL for being so BRAVE! Auditions are such a tough process, and you all did a terrific job. Please know that casting is based on MANY factors, if you did not receive a role that you hoped for, please know that it may be something as simple as height that played a major factor!

Congratulations to you all!  We were SO inspired by the great attitudes, passion, energy, and risk-taking that we saw in auditions. We have an incredibly fun and fulfilling few months ahead of us filled with acting, singing, dancing,
and, of course, friendship!

We saw approximately FIFTY incredible actors for call backs for Annie, Jr. The talent in this area is simply amazing!!! Congrats to EVERYone on your hard work and dedication, and for many of you who are tIMG_6106.PNGrying this for the very first time. We still have some call backs for some roles in the musical, as well as many casting decisions to make. Please pat yourselves on the back and know that we’ll be posting a cast list by Thursday evening!

Annie/All Stars Auditions today!

If you are interested in auditioning for Annie, Jr. or DMR All Stars but have not registered to audition, please come to the Charlottesville Center for the Arts between noon and 2:30 on Sunday, Jan. 31, and we will do our best to fit you in! Please wear something comfortable and be prepared to come to call backs at 4:00 PM if you are auditioning for Annie, Jr.!

Charlottesville Center for the Arts is located at 2409 Ivy Road, next to Bel Air Market.

annie-jr-for-kidsThe weather has impeded our planned audition schedule, so please see below to submit your video audition or to schedule/reschedule and audition for next week! If you cannot find a time that suits you, or if you would prefer to submit a video audition, please read below of more information.

Click on a time to schedule a private audition for Annie, Jr. and/or the DMR All Stars OR submit a video by email to DMRAdventures@Gmail.com. You will be asked to sing 16-32 measures (or a verse and a chorus) of a song. Background tracks (iPad, iPod, CD, etc.) are recommended, but you may sing a cappella if you do not have background music. Please also be familiar with either the song “Tomorrow” or “Maybe,” both from the musical Annie. If you are auditioning for Annie, Jr., you should also prepare a one minute monologue ours the following link to check out the breakdown and work on provided monologues :

If you are registered to audition on Sunday, Jan. 31, please note that the auditions will take place at Charlottesville Center for the Arts at 2409 Ivy Road, next to Bel Air Market. Please not that this is NOT an open call audition. If you have friends who are planning to audition, please remind them that they need to register!

You may also send a video audition for All Stars or Annie, Jr. Please send the video or a link to a video file (i.e., Youtube) as soon as possible, but ideally by Sunday, Jan. 24! You may email the file to DMRAdventures@gmail.com

We will also email you several forms to sign, as well as a calendar, with which you will be asked to mark conflicts. If you are requesting a scholarship, the scholarship forms must be presented a the time of your child’s audition. We will have call backs for Annie, Jr. on Sunday, January 31. If your first audition is on Sunday, Jan. 31, please be prepared to stay afterwards or come back at or around 4:00 PM. We may extend some call backs to Monday, Feb. 1st and will send out that information at a later time.

Annie, Jr. auditions announced – our upcoming Broadway Adventure production!

annie-jr-for-kidsLeaping Lizards!! Our upcoming Broadway Adventure production has been announced and this one is likely to be the biggest one we’ve produced here in Charlottesville.

Auditions are required for participation and you can click here for an audition appointment on Jan. 22 or 23. Your child must be available for tech week and performances. Please check rehearsal and performance schedule before registering for an audition appointment! Rehearsals will take place mostly on Sundays between 2:15 p.m.and 7:00 p.m. and will be based on the performer conflicts submitted during auditions.  Besides Sundays, there are rehearsals on March 31, April 16, April 26 & 27, and possibly April 29. Performances are scheduled for April 30 and May 1.  Click here for our tentative calendar.

Production fee is only $175! This is almost half the price of our previous Broadway Adventure classes!  Need-based scholarships may still be available to those who qualify. Click here to schedule an audition. Auditions will take place Jan. 22 & 23, with call backs on Jan. 24.

The BROADWAY ADVENTURE program offers a fast-paced but FUN education in musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting, while working towards a culminating production of a full musical production: Annie, Jr!  We will be producing two or three performances of this production, at least two of which are open to the general public.

DMR Adventures is proud to announce that our Broadway Master Class Series continues on Saturday, November 14. Please sign up right away, while spaces are still available. This is an incredible opportunity to train with one our most popular guest teachers!

One of our favorite Broadway Artists, Brad Bass (Wicked, Memphis, Jersey Boys), is in Charlottesville for one day to train our students, both old and new, on Saturday, November 14.
