Wesley Diener is a professional performer, voice educator, and director who is highly sought after for opera, musical theatre, and cabaret projects.
He has performed across the United States and internationally with companies such as Teatro Nuovo, Bel Canto in Tuscany, Classic Lyric Arts, and the Shakespeare Opera Theatre. Native to Virginia, Wesley has appeared with many of the region's finest organizations, including Charlottesville Opera, Opera Roanoke, the Oratorio Society of Richmond, and most recently, Creative Cauldron for several sold-out solo Cabaret performances in Washington, DC.
Quickly gaining recognition as a leader in the field of voice instruction, Wesley is passionate about guiding his students to unlock the natural freedom and power within their voices. He has served students of all ages to elevate their vocal technique for professional theatre productions, community and school choirs, corporate meetings, doctor offices, and more. In group settings, Wesley has directed and music directed fully-staged musicals, choirs, workshops, and camps.
Outside of the classroom, Wesley is a versatile stage director in the genres of opera, musical theatre, and theatre. His directing credits at DMR Adventures include Junie B. Jones The Musical Jr. and Pirates Past Noon. Additional credits include: Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s opera Le devin du village at the University of Virginia; Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years at the UVA Department of Drama; Viewing Pleasure at the University of Virginia New Works Festival; The Show Must Go Online at WD Studio.
Wesley graduated from the University of Virginia, where he was a member of the Distinguished Majors Program, the Performance Concentration, and the Miller Art Scholars.
